v50.14 · v0.47.05 This article is about the current version of DF.Note that some content may still need to be updated. |
Emeralds, a green form of the mineral beryl, are precious gems, found in small clusters within schist, granite, and marble. A value of 40 makes them excellent trade goods or decorations.
If they do appear on the map, emeralds tend to be much more plentiful than all other gems of equal value; however, unlike those, emerald clusters never contain more valuable gem inclusions.
Due to the layers where they are found, they are often found in small clusters adjacent to the magma sea, leaving only 1 or 2 crystals far enough away from the magma to be mined.
This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable. |
Emeralds are particularly useful for trade in adventurer mode.
