Slabs are buildings which can be built from the build menu under Alt+slab. They can be made using one Template:L at the Template:L. Once made, they can be made into Template:Ls at a Template:L by an Template:L.
Slabs are also used as signs in Template:L.
You can create a Template:L from a slab's query menu. Unlike Template:Ls, slabs do not block movement.
Dwarf ghosts
If player fails to build a slab for dead dwarf, even if the dwarf is properly buried, a ghost of the dwarf may appear. It is listed as undead in units list, bearing the name of dead dwarf and represented with white "Ñ" in game. Engraving and building a slab for the named dwarf makes the spirit disappear.
It is yet uncertain if the ghost may do any harm to the dwarves. The spirit just pops in the air, no unhappy thoughts or "Interrupted by" events have been observed.
