Wikipedia article

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

Lapis lazulis are unremarkable low-value gems found in igneous intrusive stone layers, as well as within marble.

In real life

In addition to being used as a semi-precious stone, the intense blue colour of lapis lazuli led to its being ground up and used as a pigment in painting.

A lapis lazuli figurine.
D4Dwarf.png This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable.

Contrary to the common belief, Lapis Lazuli cannot be used to empower weapons, tools and armor with magic, nor can it be used to dye things.
