Statues are buildings which can be built from the build menu under statue. They can be made from stone, glass, or 3 metal bars.
A statue raises the value of the room it is placed in. The amount that the room value is raised depends on the craftsmanship of the statue. Statues also are more valuable than other furniture made with the same material and quality level, as their base value is 25.

Statues may be built using one stone at the mason's workshop using the masonry labor. Statues may also be built using three metal bars of the same type at a metalsmith's forge using the blacksmithing labor.

You can create a sculpture garden from a statue's q menu. Dwarves will spend time at a statue garden appreciating the statues and may even organize parties there.

Be careful when placing statues, because dwarves cannot move on the same square they occupy. A poorly placed statue can potentially seal off parts of your fortress. Also note that the floor under the statue cannot be smoothed or engraved while the statue is placed.

Value

note that making statues of ore (such as native gold) is more productive value-wise, because the base value of the metal is used, but gold bars require far more labor, ore, and time to create. to enable this, press z, then go to "stone" and enable the ore to be used. Note that the ore will still be treated as any other stone, and must be closer to the dwarf for him to use it. you may want to turn off other stone using activities for the duration.
