This article is about an older version of DF. |
Saltpeter is an unremarkable yellow stone found within sedimentary layers. It is one of the few stones which will boil in magma.
This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable. |
In real life, it is used in conjunction with charcoal and sulfur in order to make gunpowder.
It is rumored that if a Dwarf ever discovers this, Dwarven "Civilization" would come to an explosive, but Fun end.
potassium nitrate, good for fertilizer and blowing things up with carbon and sulfur
