Bats are Template:L living in Template:Ls in non-freezing Template:Ls. They do not eat your Template:L, but they can cause unhappy Template:Ls to some Template:L. They can appear in swarms, so if you have Template:L, be prepared for a gigantic pile of bat Template:L. Disturbed swarms can sometimes show up in your fortress' history.
