Since nickel is a low value metal, you may have more use for the garnierite as decoration as for nickel, since nickel hasn't any special use and hasn't a high value, but garnierite is the only material that is bright green, except for some gems, and thus is very valuable for decoration (if you like colorfull fortresses or just the color bright green).

Garnierite is the only ore of Template:L, a low-value Template:L. It only occurs in Template:L, and appears in the form of Template:Ls. It is also the only stone/ore that is bright green, making it uniquely useful for color-coded Template:Ls as well as general decorative purposes.
