(did some digging, and apparently baited animal traps CANNOT catch cave lobsters in any version newer than 0.23.130.23a, because they only work on GROUNDER/EATER vermin and POOL/RIVER fish)

This article is about an older version of DF.

Cave lobsters are a type of aquatic vermin occasionally found in underground pools and underground rivers. However, it is not possible to catch cave lobsters by fishing, and due to a bug it's not possible to catch them in baited animal traps either - the only way to obtain them is via trade. When eaten, they leave a shell that is twice as valuable as those from turtles.

Some dwarves like cave lobsters for their beauty.
