- A small woolly insect that lives in hive colonies. It has an annoying sting which it rarely uses.
Bumblebees are similar to honey bees, forming colonies in various areas. Unlike their relatives, bumblebees do not die after stinging their targets, and they cannot be used for the production of honey. However, beekeepers may transfer bumblebees to a hive, which turns them into honey bees once they are installed in their new home.
A dwarf being stung by a bumblebee does not create an unhappy thought.
Bugs
- As said above, bumlebees placed into a hive misteriously transform into honey bees. Bug:3990
- Despite being unable to be bred in hives, they still make honey that may be preferred by some dwarves, but isn't obtainable by legitimate means. Bug:4735
