This article is about an older version of DF.

The mill is a water-powered workshop used to process various types of Template:Ls into Template:L, Template:L, or Template:L. To function, it must be placed with one of the two outer squares of its middle row (shown in blue in the floor plan) over a Template:L; the outside or Template:L can both be used, while channels, ponds, and flooded areas cannot.

A Miller needs a Template:L to do the plant processing. Processing a plant also returns the Template:Ls needed to plant them as Template:Ls.

If the mill is built outside in a cold enough climate, the river freezing in winter will cause the mill wheel to freeze over, which will render it inoperable.
