A throne or chair is a piece of Template:L that dwarves use in their daily routines once placed as a seat (the generic term). A throne can be made from Template:L at a Template:L with Template:L, Template:L at a Template:L with Template:L, Template:L at a Template:L with Template:L, or from Template:L at a Template:L by a dwarf with the Template:L Template:L (where it's listed as a "chair"). The material has no effect on its functionality; all thrones work the same. Note that for an equal skill level, wood chairs are produced faster than rock thrones[Verify], though different Template:Ls have different final base Template:L multipliers.

The build menu option chair will allow you to place any throne/chair as a "seat", but only Template:L.

Seats are a standard feature in Template:Ls -- each Template:L should have an available adjacent seat to allow dwarves to sit while they eat at that table - if a dwarf is forced to eat standing up, or without a table, a bad Template:L will result. Seats and tables are not automatically paired, so an arrangement that forces 1 seat:1 table is recommended, so a dwarf sitting at one seat does not take the only available table to another seat.

Seats are also used to create Template:Ls (and throne rooms, essentially the same thing) for Template:L.
