This article is about an older version of DF.

The Meeting Hall, also known as the Great Hall, is among the most vital parts of any fortress. It is a room where idle dwarves gather, parties are held, and stray domestic animals congregate. It is a good idea to site this heavily-trafficked area someplace both safe and convenient to get to.

A public dining room can be designated as a meeting hall, and a room defined from a well, statue, or cage/restraint also functions as a meeting hall.
