Mason's workshop

Masons are responsible for creating furniture and other constructions out of stone, using the masonry labor preference. They do most of their work in the mason's workshop.

Masonry is also required for building Walls, Floors, Bridges and Supports made of Stone or stone Blocks; however, such activities do not give experience in masonry. Oddly, though it does not require a mason, building a stone road does increase a dwarf's masonry expertise..[Verify]

As stone is plentiful in even the newest fort, and the tables, chairs and doors a mason can build are immediately desirable, any expedition should bring a mason along.
