Dwarves use tables to eat Template:L from, which avoids the generation of a negative thought for eating due to a lack of tables. Each table should be paired with an adjacent Template:L, placed so that no table is without access to a chair and no chair is attempted to be used by more than one dwarf, as dwarves get a different negative thought about eating from a table without a corresponding chair. Furthermore, if a Template:L is designated from a table, it will give a positive thought to dwarves who eat within the designated dining room area. The positive thought is scaled to the Template:L of the dining room, which is one of the easiest ways of regularly giving your dwarves positive thoughts.
Tables are also used as an input, along with Template:L and Template:Ls, at the Template:L to make a Template:L. With three quality-rated items in a single tile, this can be a good way of rapidly increasing the value of a room, although the traction bench won't be used unless in a designated Template:L.
