MDF: v1.31

A medium-sized foraging beast native to shallow caves and burrows. It possesses a large snout and long tusks which it uses to dig and furrow through the earth. The large ivory tusks of these creatures continuously grow to compensate for the wear of usage.

Cragtooth Boars can be shaved for their tusks, which will grow back in time. These "cragtooth tusks" are worth twice the normal value for bones and ivory. These are a relatively common find in the caverns, and after a few cagetraps are laid you can acquire a breeding pair. They are relatively cheap at the embark screen currently for only 20 points each, so you can save yourself the time for a low price. They are better at combat than war dogs, but in the amount of time you can get a handful of War Cragtooths you will get many more dogs that are worth more overall. The Cragtooth is better used for industry instead of war.
