(My mason just made an artifact, so I tested this building quality part. Instantly got a masterwork bridge on my first try, after never getting one before the mason became legendary. That seemed reasonably verified to me. But this is my first edit so my apologies if not) |

Mason is the skill associated with the masonry labor. Masons are responsible for constructing certain buildings out of stone, specifically trade depots, bridges, furnaces, and wells, and their building quality and value[Verify] are influenced by the mason's skill.
The mason skill is not used when constructing things like walls, floors, stairs, or roads, even if they are made from stone blocks. Those types of things use the Wall/Floor construction and Road building labors and have no corresponding skill. Graphically, masons wear all white clothes.
In previous versions the Mason is what is now a Stone carver.
