Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.
A small rodent with long ears. It has powerful hind legs which it uses to swiftly avoid predators. It can be found anywhere from forests to deserts.

Rabbits are small domestic animals that can also be found roaming temperate plains. Because of their tiny size, they will not provide food or bones even when mature. This means they are not usable as livestock, nor recommended as hunting game. They make decent pets for dwarves, but rabbits possess low pet value which do not make them very profitable in trade. Non-pet rabbits will require a pasture to survive.

Male rabbits are referred to as buck rabbits while females are called doe rabbits. Be warned that rabbits do indeed breed like rabbits.

Admired for their ears and their ability to burrow.
