Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.
A large spotted feline predator. It is capable of incredible speed when ambushing its prey.

Cheetahs are large predators in tropical flatlands that appear as solitary hunters. They will avoid dwarves for the most part, unless of course dwarves Template:L

Although they cannot be tamed until the Template:L arrives, tame cheetahs are trainable into War/hunting cheetahs. See Template:L for how this is done, and for a list of other trainable creatures.

If you manage to acquire enough tame cheetahs via your dungeon master or by trading with the Template:L, consider starting a breeding program. Cheetah parts are worth three times as much as domestic animal parts.
