This article is about an older version of DF.
A tiny, foul-tempered humanoid creature that dwells in the evil mountains. They are known to enjoy drinking liquor and will take any unguarded supplies of booze.

Dark gnomes are the evil cousins of Template:Ls. They have a teal skin, yellow eyes and a wonderful variety of Template:L. They are just as intelligent as their Template:L, and like them, lack a spoken language. There is no formal Dark Gnome Template:L, but nevertheless, in Fortress Mode they will come for your Template:L in groups of 5 to ten and scare the Template:L out of any civilians they encounter. If they reach your alcohol they'll guzzle it with such efficient speed that your Template:L will soon be dying of thirst unless you have steady access to Template:L or Template:L.

Despite their apparent malice, Dark Gnomes are not particularly violent and will run in terror when chased. They're able to equip Template:Ls and Template:L that are appropriately sized for them, but this is rarely seen. Any Template:L or Template:L can easily hurt them, but be wary of Template:L on Template:L, where a dwarf may charge the gnome, miss, and Template:L

Lucky gnomes can live for up to 250 years, assuming they stay away from Template:L and other hazards to their health.
