Wikipedia article

A large bird with a featherless red head found in the sky of tropical deserts, scanning the ground for dead carcasses.

Vultures are pests. They appear in groups and, if there is food outside, they will try to steal it. Dwarves too close to a vulture will flee, but a single dwarf can handle one. They are not aggressive, and will flee from dwarves, but they keep coming back for food.
