Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.

A medium-sized herding animal. It is prized for its thick wool coat.

Sheep can be sheared (or butchered) to yield wool. When butchered a Ram (male sheep) will give more bones than an Ewe, 10 instead of 8, and will also give 2 horns.
