Wikipedia article

This article is about an older version of DF.
A large spotted feline predator. It is capable of incredible speed when ambushing its prey.

Cheetahs are large predators in tropical flatlands that roam as solitary hunters. They will avoid dwarves for the most part, unless dwarves seek them out.

Captured cheetahs can be tamed and kept as exotic pets, or trained for hunting or war. Tame cheetahs may also be acquired by trading with the elves. Cheetahs can serve as lucrative breeding stock for a meat industry, as cheetah butchering returns are worth three times as much as those of common domestic animals.

Despite being supposedly very fast, cheetahs have the same default speed as most other creatures in the game.

Admired for its speed.

Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable.

There are no Cheetah Men because the dwarves saw what happened last time and decided it would be unhealthy for the game's functionality. No midair dying will be implemented either.
