Wikipedia article

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A giant humanoid monster with two heads.

Ettins are similar to the cyclops and the giant, but have two heads. They are semi-megabeasts attracted by wealth just like regular megabeasts and titans. A warning message will appear when they arrive which shows their name. They pose the same threat as the other giant humanoids, as they are also enormous and building destroyers. They are usually found in caves, so be careful when embarking near one.

The heads are known to argue with each other, but that doesn't make ettins any less dangerous. They can survive having one of their heads lopped off, but may die nonetheless due to the heavy bleeding. Ettins can be easily stopped with weapon traps armed with large serrated discs; they also can be captured in a cage trap.
