This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A fierce creature from the evil snowy wilds. It has white fur and a piercing howl.

Ice wolves are evil-aligned versions of the common wolf who can be found at evil tundras and glaciers. They are almost identical to their non-ice counterparts save for their coloration and for being 10,000 cm³ larger, coming close to the size of an adult dwarf. This makes them potentially dangerous to civilians, though an equipped military squad will make short work of them. Ice wolf materials are worth twice as much as those of common animals.

Ice wolves possess a pet value of 50, but due to missing the necessary [PET_EXOTIC] token, they cannot be trained without of modding.

Some dwarves like ice wolves for their piercing howls.
