Large rats are cavern-dwelling rodents that are not very dangerous but surprisingly quick. If one manages to sneak into your fortress, it will attempt to steal your food and booze. Fresh recruits may have a hard time catching these pests if they have room to run.

Butchering them is often a waste of time.
