Wikipedia article

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A huge bipedal dinosaur with a giant biting jaw and short arms. It has two small horns over its eyes.

Carnotaurus is a large, extinct carnivorous dinosaur from the Cretaceous period, found in temperate and tropical shrublands. It is known for its extremely short arms(even shorter than most other theropods) and the horns it has over its eyes. Like with all real-world extinct creatures, its spawning depends on settings chosen during world creation.

Carnotaurus can be extremely dangerous due to its powerful bite. Nevertheless, these can be extremely beneficial to a fortress when captured and tamed. Carnotaurus has a high pet value of 400. It has very high clutch sizes and butcher yields(with an added gizzard stone as seen in the raws). They can also be trained for war or hunting. They have the MOUNT_EXOTIC tag which implies the ability for elves to bring them as war animals during sieges. A baby Carnotaurus is called a hatchling.

Some dwarves like Carnotaurus for their eye horns.
