This building is part of the dwarven religion system and is the highest tier building you can create within it.
Like the altar, the temple allows you to offer a variety of items to Armok, in exchange for rewards and allows your priests to perform ceremonies which grant benefits to your dwarves. It also one of the ways to acquire a golem heart and the only way to receive or animate a guardian of Armok.
