This article is about a mod.

MDF: v1.31

Keep in mind that the vanilla Strand extraction skill is renamed to Apostle of Armok in the mod. They work in the religious buildings and can work the holiest metal of them all, Adamantine.

Shrine of Armok

Build labor: Apostle of Armok / Priest

Skill: Praying

Shrines are the most basic of religious buildings. Any dwarf can pray at them to receive a small gift from Armok. The success rate is very low, 3-6% for most things. Pray 30 times, get 1 item. But it is free. So if your moody dwarf is about to go berserk, pray for whatever he is missing. This is also a good way to train your apostles, since it doesn't cost you anything.

The following reactions are possible at the shrine:

  • Pray for booze
  • Pray for food
  • Pray for water
  • Pray for soft metal
  • Pray for hard metal
  • Pray for gems
  • Pray for silk
  • Pray for wool
  • Pray for cotton

Altar of Armok

Build labor: Apostle of Armok / Priest

Skill: Praying

The Altar allows you to make offerings to the bloodgod. You have a small chance of 10-20% to get a special item from this.

Offering a life will kill the dwarf doing the reaction but has a 100% reward chance. Beware of possible tantrums as a result of this, since no one likes a work climate that involves sacrifice. Be aware that it is also possible to sacrifice a dwarf at the Temple of Armok, which has a greater reward.

The reactions here are:

  • Sacrifice a heart to Armok
  • Offer a life to Armok
  • Offer blood to Armok
  • Offer a totem to Armok
  • Offer bones to Armok
  • Offer bones to Armok(seperate bones)
  • Offer alcohol to Armok
  • Offer meat to Armok
  • Offer ash to Armok

Temple of Armok

Build labor: Apostle of Armok / Priest

Skill: Praying

The Temple is the highest religious building you can create. Sacrificing a life to Armok here will result in a much greater reward than at the Altar. You can also offer weapons and armor to Armok.

The following reactions are possible here:

  • Offer a slain enemy to Armok
  • Cleanse corrupted blood steel
  • Sacrifice a dwarf to Armok
  • Sacrifice a weapon to Armok
  • Sacrifice an armour to Armok
  • Offer orichalum to receive a ward (needs sprite)
  • Offer orichalum to receive a ward (needs changeling)
  • Offer orichalum to recieve a golem heart
  • Offer orichalum to destroy a strange artifact
    • This will destroy a strange (and dangerous) artifact produced by the arhaelogist
  • Offer orichalum to destroy an eldritch enemy
    • This will destroy all soggoths
  • Perform ceremony of Armok's blessing
    • Raises attributes of your dwarves
  • Perform ceremony of Armok's courage
    • Prevents fear
  • Perform ceremony of Armoks wrath
    • Prevents tantrum spirals
  • Please Armok with a massive offering
    • Produces an inactive guardian of Armok (friendly iron colossus)
  • Animate a guardian of Armok (needs sprite)
