Wikipedia article

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A large monkey with blue face and rump. It lives in large groups and often survives by destroying crops and stealing garbage. The males are larger, with powerful jaws.

A once fearsome animal turned tame by the updates, mandrills, like elephants, were quite prominent in the story of Boatmurdered, being known to dismember dwarves in their quest for shiny objects to steal. They have since been reduced to a mere nuisance, although they can be incredibly annoying and possibly dangerous even in this tamer state - they disrupt jobs, bite if cornered or surprised by an awkward dwarf, and attack domesticated animals in their attempts to steal food and items left outside unattended.

They are trainable into War/hunting mandrills. See Animal training for how this is done, and for a list of other trainable creatures.
