Wikipedia article

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A small bird with long legs and bill, and a extremely long wingspan.

White storks are a species of bird who can be found in grasslands and wetlands, where they spawn in groups of 5 to 10 individuals. They are benign and around half the size of a cat, doing nothing but fly across the area aimlessly, posing no threat to the average dwarf.

White storks can be captured in cage traps and trained into cheap exotic pets. They produce a small amount of returns when butchered and lay a meager amount of eggs if placed in a nest box, being only really useful as livestock if no domestic birds are available.

Some dwarves like white storks for their long necks, their long legs and their long bills.

Admired for their long bills.
D4Dwarf.png This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable.

Despite popular belief, white storks don't actually bring babies to your fortress.
