Wikipedia article

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A small, slow-moving mammal that lives in the trees.
Not to be confused with sloth bears

Sloths are forest-dwelling mammals widely known for their slow speed. Surprisingly, there is nothing in the raws to reduce their speed in-game; consequently, they move at the same default speed as many other animals, faster than low-agility dwarves.

Sloths are not particularly dangerous or valuable, though they can be tamed and bred for meat or pets.

They do not currently climb trees like real-life sloths; however, Toady has stated that some creatures may do so in an upcoming version.
