Foul Blendecs are the evil counterparts of Satyrs. Blendecs can be dangerous if encountered by the unprepared - they travel in packs, actively attack nearby targets, and are the same size as a dwarf. Blendecs have a slight advantage over many other creatures by virtue of their eyelessness - they can see just fine, and it's impossible to take that away from them. Fortunately, they're relatively rare, and only show up in certain evil forests.

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A man-shaped creature with the legs of a goat and the empty-eyed skull of a goat.

Foul blendecs are fanciful, intelligent creatures found in certain evil-aligned forests. Standing as the size of a dwarf, these skull-headed creatures spawn rarely, in groups of 3 to 5 individuals who will menace everything smaller than themselves. They will attack dwarves who provoke them (or at least are supposed to, but currently don't Bug:10031) and may cause great injury unless countered by a military squad. They are a male-only race - no female foul blendecs exist - and are also immortal, only dying to violence and disease.

Foul blendecs are sapient and can open unlocked doors, though they're unlikely to enter a fortress unless chasing dwarves inside. As described, they're completely eye-less, but can still see through [EXTRAVISION] (meaning it's impossible to blind them). They possess a pet value of 250, but lack the necessary tokens to be trainable (and even if modded to be trainable, the fact they are intelligent creatures will lead to strange behavior). Due to the aforementioned intelligence, dwarves will not butcher, eat or use products made from foul blendecs, limiting their use to occupying space in your refuse stockpile, live training or putting them somewhere more to your liking if you capture one in a cage trap.

Their good counterparts are the satyrs.

Some dwarves like foul blendecs for their goat heads, their goat legs and their rotten eye sockets.

D4Dwarf.png This article or section has been rated D for Dwarf. It may include witty humour, not-so-witty humour, bad humour, in-jokes, pop culture references, and references to the Bay12 forums. Don't believe everything you read, and if you miss some of the references, don't worry. It was inevitable.

Foul blendecs are quite reminiscent of another goat-skull-headed monster. Dwarves who witness them carrying machetes and using dogs are recommended to kill the dogs first.
