Wikipedia article

This article is about the current version of DF.
Note that some content may still need to be updated.

A large long-necked creature with a large hump on its sturdy body. It has been domesticated to carry passengers and cargo but is nonetheless bad-tempered and will spit.

One-humped camels are creatures who can be found in deserts, often seen being used as pack animals by dwarf and human merchants - like other herbivorous livestock, they require a sizeable pasture to survive. One-humped camel calves need two years to grow to their full adult size, and they only live for a maximum of 10-20 years.

They may be butchered for a good amount of returns, or assigned as fairly valuable pets. Female one-humped camels produce milk, which can be cooked or processed into cheese.

One-humped camels are also known as dromedaries, and are not to be confused with (nor bred with) the two-humped camel, which is a different species.

Some dwarves like one-humped camels for their hump.

Admired for its hump.
